Great subject I can ad a word or two too, to start with I have to say I am starting to like Major Buttatedge, seriously, he seems to be a cool guy in many ways, I am a a guy that try to see and find connections between science matters of faith and the logics behind and between these things, because according to my opinion there are, so many ask, why would God want to destroy His planet, He actually is not, perhaps he is saving it,ever thought about that ?? the real question is, who is destroying this planet, He who handed it over to us in a good shape or is it we who has really messed up, I think we all know the answer to this, but it doesnt mean He has no hand in what also happens, you see this IS actually the question of the ages you are asking, this is the question we never will come to comprehend, fully, an easier related question is, how much hand does He has in it, this is a more relevant question we can if we try find an answer or two in it, we always can go back to what He Himself has stated, that is, yes He does have an hand in everything, sometimes mildly and sometimes more firmly, He has stated, He does punish on a micro and macro level and He is most just every single time, things that are happening to us right now at this or every moment does not always show its true purpose, most likely later on it will if we have eyes to see, let me give you an example I recently experienced, as I wrote a couple of days ago, my trip over the Atlantic was supposed to take around 35 something days, as it should, during my journey a couple of unexpended events happened, one was when I was about to round Scotland and there I encountered such powerful head winds that was about to tear my boat apart, I fought it for three days after I broke one of my autopilots and other damages I was forced to take the southern route through the English channel and this one I never told anyone till now, a medium size cargo ship actually tried to ram me deliberately over, oh yes it happened but thats another story, and then the horrific storm such like one of those you watch on YT and it broke alot of things on my boat forcing me to steer the boat day and night for three days and four nights which I swear to God with a minute or two of sleep each day, dont ask me how but thats what happened and many other things happened that delayed my journey and during these times I was wondering why God with all these mishaps is torturing me, so I thought He is testing my mental strength to see when I finally will brake and start to disbelieve, and I thought to myself why is He not ease my suffering he even for a little bit because for each time each test not only did my pain lesser but increased greatly, today at this point I know how merciful He actually was when I didnt understood and thought it was the opposite that He is testing my resolve, and He was at the same time He was protecting me from greater harm because if everything was going according to my plan not His plan I would have been in the middle of hurricane Dorian right now a place you just dont want to be I can tell you, and I have been in the center and middle of horrific storms at sea but this Dorain is of another magnitude, nothing could survive that, not a little sailing boat at sea thats for sure, but at that time I couldnt know there are lot worse things than the one I encountered, so you see even if things gets seemingly destroyed He is actually saving something of greater value, so the real question is, who is really destroying everything, we or Him, there is actually something called cause and effect you know and He is neither of these, He is way above that, He is truly the greatest, and most merciful even though we dont see it everytime.
