My words of advice to our progressive friends is this, because you are at the left edge of the party you have to be extra responsible and careful with your own words because after all you are of those who set the standards that could be used against the grander party you are part of and want to win, as a group at the left side of a party you have enormous responsibility to turn the undecided for you and the party in large or against it, so a rhetoric that would work on district level would perhaps not work on state level and certainly not on nation level, leaders must be responsible leaders and not quickly jump on something that need more time to look into how it will work on micro and macro level, the echo system is complex and we have to work within it to create diversity intuned with how nature was intended, thats how you go green, there are many ways to go green.
