Could be one of the Rods, I have seen two much smaller one myself outside my balcony in Sweden, popping out of the ground, the grass then flying into a tree without making any sound or touching or moving the leafs, I saw it very clearly, they were I would say, 15-25 cm the wings were more transparent than the body and they flew very fast, right out of the ground, they flew around five meters next to me, they are real.
