Here is the deal, Iran has from 1500- 2000 antiship cruise missiles which they have not fired one yet from what I have seen, they are saving it for when military ships get near the Hormuz strait to target them, these cruise missiles are nothing like the Shaheds slow with a 50 kg warhead, the lower end of these cruise missiles fly close to supersonic with warheards which one can if hit correctly at a ship sink it, one is enough, now imagine many sea skimming cruise missiles flying at a ship fired at a close range where you have tens of seconds to react, this is what Iran is waiting for and this is why no US warship gets close to Irans shores especially at the strait of Hormuz, it would be suicide, it would cost more than it taste, also I dont see how any amphibious US landing crafts entering the Persian Gulf to invade Kharg Island either, unless the US has some hidden already in the Persian Gulf to try landing there, or they have to parachute troops but then it would be met with Irans defenders on the ground, it would be a bloodbath, either way, it looks like Trump got himself in a mess, a huge mess he cant easily pull out of, unless he just declared the war is over and stop right here.
